Amboseli National Park

In the face of Kilimanjaro: herds of elephants, salt dust, acacias, savannah land and sulphur springs!

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park stretches from an altitude of 1,700 m above sea level to the 2,760 m high Ol Doinyo Orok in southern Kenya on the border with Tanzania. Nature lovers will get their money's worth when hiking through the five different landscapes: the dry bed of Lake Amboseli, vast savannahs, sparse acacia forest, rocky thorn bushes and dense green marshland with sulphur springs.

How to get there

Amboseli National Park is easily accessible by car from Nairobi. It also offers an airstrip for passengers arriving by Plane. When you start your safari from the coast, Amboseli is a great combination with Tsavo East or Tsavo West.

Numerous tracks offer access to elephants, lions, cheetahs, Maasai giraffes, leopards, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elands, Grant's and Thomson's gazelles. With a bit of luck, you might spot a rare black rhino.

Gerenuk and oryx are mainly found in the dry bush areas towards Namanga, but spotted hyenas, bat-eared foxes, steppe baboons, vervet monkeys and black-backed jackals can also be observed. The swampy wetlands are home to a wide variety of birds, with over 600 different species living here.
