On Kenya’s breathtaking North Coast, nestled between the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and the lush mangrove forests of the Mida Creek, lies the Temple Point. This family-run hotel in Watamu is more than just a place to stay – it’s a unique experience that gave me a deep appreciation for the beauty and culture of this fascinating region.

The journey began early in the morning in Nairobi. At 7 AM, we boarded a small bush plane that was set to take us directly to the Masai Mara. This was my first time in such an aircraft, and the experience was an adventure in itself. The small plane had only about twelve passengers, creating a very intimate and personal atmosphere.

The heat when I got off the plane was overwhelming. Leaving Europe in February meant that I was still very warmly dressed. But the Kenyan weather, especially the humidity, was nothing like what I was used to.

During my time in Kenia,, I had the pleasure of embarking on a fascinating cultural tour in Watamu, Kenya, and I can't wait to share my experience with you all! Our adventure began at Temple Point, where we set off with our guide Nando in a tuk-tuk towards Watamu.
